Philippe Dupuis, 73, of Memramcook East died Wednesday (3 décembre) at Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital, Moncton, after a brief illness. Born in Memramcook East, he was a son of the late Livain and Alice (Dupuis) Dupuis.

He was employed as a carpenter for Canadian National Railways, retiring in 1978. He attended Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Memramcook East.

Besides his wife, the former Rosée Melanson, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Edgar Bourque (Anna), Mrs. Paul LeBlanc (Maria), Mrs. Danny Garvis (Theresa) and Angela, all of Memramcook East; eight sons, Gérard of Ottawa, Roméo, Louis-Philippe, Bernard and Réginald, all of Memramcook East, Elie of Memramcook, Victor of Murray's Settlement, and Ola of Manitoba; three sisters, Mrs. Yvet LeBlanc (Emma), Mrs. Aimé Cormier (Annie) and Mrs. Antoine Bourgeois (Clara), all of Memramcook East; two brothers, Emerie of Portsmith, N.H., and Léonard of Memramcook East; 17 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Emile, Honoré and Léo, and a sister, Dora, died previously.

The body is at the Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook. Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday at Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Roman Catholic Church at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
